CD1001 An Heraldic Map of Cambridge

This superbly detailed map is a celebration of the rich and colourful heraldry of Cambridge. The border was inspired by the coats of arms on the many magnificent college buildings around the city, some of the heraldry dates back to the time of Henry VII. The map itself is a bird's eye view of the architecturally interesting area of the city. The map took about year to complete and is entirely hand painted in watercolours by artist /calligraphers Gerald Fleuss FSSI and Patricia Gidney FSSI both of whom enjoy an international reputation in their craft. Close collaboration with the Cloister Press in Cambridge has resulted in a laminated, lithographic print of the finest quality, which has captured the lavish colours of the original painting.
